Social Studies Museum Project

Part I

You have been assigned a specific question to answer. Answer your question fully, a minimum of two paragraphs. It should be typed or written very neat and accurately,it will become part of a class Big Book.


You will also draw a detailed illustration to accompany your written work. Be sure to include background scenery if necessary. Use crayon and colored pencils for drawing and markers for outlining only. Use information from the classroom, library, Internet, encyclopedias, maps and the textbook to research your topic. NEATNESS COUNTS!!!


Part II Museum Project


You will be making one project to display in the classroom ( i.e. instrument, diorama, craft, artfact, poster, etc.)


This project will represent the ideas expressed on your research page. (REMEMBER: This project must correspond with your assigned topic.)


For example, if your topic is pottery, a clay pot that you make would be an excellent display item. Show your project idea no later than January 8th.



THE NATIVE AMERICAN PROJECT Part 1 and Part 2 are due on January 20, 2016.


*** Make sure your project is labeled with your name and class 5-1 or 5-2.

If a tribe is not specified in your question you can choose any of the following tribes:

Anasazi, Mound Builders (Mississippians), Iroquois, Natchez (descendants of the Mound Builders), Tlingit, Lakota Sioux, Navajo, Pueblo (Hopi & Zuni), Apache, Cherokee, Creek also known as Muscogee, Algonkian.
